Our leagues and Cup competitions are played to a high standard. Players are of club, county and even national standard. Each club is able to enter as many teams as they can field.
League competitions
Mens, ladies and mixed teams play home and away matches over an eight month season from September to April.
Mens and Mixed
Mens and Mixed teams are made up of 6 players. Each of the 3 pairings play each of the opposition pairings once, the winner of each game being the best of three rubbers to 21 points. There are 9 games in total.
The winning team earns 4 points and an extra point for each game won. The losing team just earns 1 point per game won. Draws are not possible.
Ladies
Ladies teams are made up of 4 players. The two pairings play each of the oppositions pairings once and then change partners for the final 2 games. Once again, the winner of each game is the best of three rubbers to 21. There are 6 games in total.
The winning team earns 4 points for a win and an extra point for each game won. A draw earns each team one point plus the point for each game. The losing team just earns points for each game won.
Cup competition
The cup competition also runs from September to April. Again, each club is allowed to enter as many teams as they can field. Each cup match is made up of 3 Mens, 3 ladies and 3 mixed games. The winning team progresses to the next round.
